Where to start?
You have decided that you want to cloth diaper, but you are not sure where to start, what you need or what works. You’ve come to the right place! When I started cloth diapering, I felt overwhelmed by all the options. I didn’t know which diapers where worth spending a little more on and which ones I should completely avoid. I felt like I was guessing as to what I actually needed to cloth diaper.
Little Neetchers will be able to help you figure out which cloth diapers will make cloth diapering enjoyable for you and anyone else who may take part in the diapering of your Little Neetcher. Remember, the diapers we sell we are using, they are our favorites! We picked the diapers based on their ability to work and not leak, on their affordability and on their durability.
The diagram below will help you to easily make a decision about which diaper to use based on the pros (what you are looking for in a diaper) and the price (what can you afford).

This table is just to give you a simple over view of the diapers, prices, and the appropriate quantities.
*I almost always use pocket diapers at night. If your baby is a heavy wetter, pocket diapers can contain a lot of wetness and they keep your baby’s bottom very dry and comfortable, especially at night. If you decided to use pocket diapers at night it’s nice to have at least 3-5. Or use the Wonder Wraps with prefolds and a doubler for great protection. If you pick wonder wraps you would only need 1-2 covers, 6 prefolds, and 3 stay dry doublers. At night you will always want to have a barrier between your baby’s skin and the absorbent part of the diaper. This barrier is usually fleece, because it wicks moisture away from your baby’s skin leaving them feeling comfortable and dry. This is why pocket diapers are so nice to use at night, the fleece barrier is sown right in. Many of the inserts we sell have fleece sown on top, which is nice, but they often require added absorbency, like a doubler to be effective at night. The Stay Dry Doublers are my favorite to use at night on top of prefolds, or any other inserts. They add absorbency and have fleece on top. The stay dry doublers are not to be used inside pocket diapers. Both of the pocket diapers we sell come with their own doublers and do not need fleece on top.
Here are some accessories that will make cloth diapering easier:
Magic Stick (natural diaper rash ointment that won’t leave nasty residues in your cloth diapers)
Small Wet Bag (great for storing wet cloth diapers when out and about)
Charlie’s Soap (detergent that’s save for washing diapers, rinses completely out leaving no residue)
Hanging Diaper Pail (great way to store dirty diapers, wash clean with diapers)
One of my favorite accessories has been the hanging diaper pail! It’s so much better than using a regular garbage can style storage that can be messy and stinky. The hanging pails are easy to wash and use. Simply throw your hanging pail in the wash with your diapers. You can use them to store your diapers on weekend trips away from home and simply zip the bag closed to contain any smells. I can’t recommend them enough. They are a must for cloth diapering.
